Fun, fellowship and Service Above Self!
The Rotary Club of Lillington is community-focused and supports endeavors to make the greater Lillington community a better place in which to live, while enjoying great fellowship.
Chartered on September 23, 1937, the Rotary Club of Lillington has helped to make a better community. Working with schools and helping build facilities for civic clubs and other events, the Rotary Club of Lillington has been a supporter of youth and education in our community and in the world.
Every week we work to make our programs interesting, timely, and worthwhile. Leaders from business, education, government, and the healthcare industry keep our members and our guests up-to-date on the latest trends in their fields. Speakers present interesting and lively programs to our club, as well.
We support the Harnett County Buddy Backpack program, providing weekend nutrition to children in need. We are a proud supporter of local recreation league athletic teams, and we have been the chartering agency for Boy Scout Troop #61 for more than half a century. We provide many support services in education, including an extensive scholarship program for local high school graduates, and literacy enhancement by providing dictionaries each year to all students in Grade 3 at two local schools.
We also support the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International with significant contributions to its Polio Eradication Program (PolioPlus). We have been a significant part of providing a kidney imaging machine to a hospital in India, and were involved in an international project in Jamaica. We are also big supporters of the Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust.
We embody the concept of SERVICE Above Self!
