The the 36th annual Cornelius Harnett Charity Gala is a fundraising event honoring the namesake of Harnett County, Cornelius Harnett, and hosted by the Rotary Club of Lillington.
Funds raised by the gala go toward:
- College scholarships to local high school students
- A monetary prize for the Harnett County Teacher of the Year
- Financial assistance to the local Boy Scout Troop
- Cougar Character Award medallions at Lillington-Shawtown Elementary School
- Dictionaries to each third-grade student at both Buies Creek and Lillington-Shawtown elementary schools
- Assisting Buddy Backpacks of Harnett County
- Sending juniors from local high schools to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy each year
- Supporting a new reading volunteer program at Lillington-Shawtown introduced by our club last year
- The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International Polio Foundation – an effort to erase polio from the earth. We are very close.
- And so much more.
The Cornelius Harnett Gala will be held at the Harnett County Governmental Complex, in the Commons area between the Harnett County Health Services building and the Social Services building. While the band will be the same band as we have used for the first thirty-five galas, the music mix will include music for all ages and musical tastes, and you can make a meal of delicious hor d’oeuvres from the buffet. Visual presentations will be displayed to recognize our sponsors, and talk about our community service.
Please, consider becoming a Platinum, Gold or Silver sponsor, which includes individual tickets as well as the chance for recognition. We can even arrange for reserved tables for corporate groups. You can also purchase individual tickets for $50 per person, which gives you and your guests great food, wonderful music.
